Cotswold Wildlife Park

About two miles south of Burford, lies an amazing old estate and grounds that have been turned into one of the most delightful zoos I've been to in years.  The grounds include 160 acres of parkland and gardens that house over 200 species of all sorts of animals and birds. It is quite a site to see a lovely English manor house with a bunch of white rhinos quietly grazing on the front lawn.

Other highlights include penguins, giraffes, lions, a bat house, and a narrow gauge railway that circles around that park. I had put off visiting for several years thinking is might be a tired and run-down zoo. I couldn't have been more wrong.  The large selection of animals are fascinating and seem well cared for and the grounds are beautifully kept. I
t is a delightful place to spend a day out, with out without kids.
