In the bleak midwinter

Frosty wind
made moan

Earth stood hard as iron
|
 |
| Water like a stone |
 |
| Snow had fallen, |
 |
| Snow on snow, |
 |
| Snow on snow |
 |
|
It is mid-January, the bleakest part of winter here in
England. The weather is damp, the days are short, the trees are bare, and
yet...small, tender shoots of green dot the garden path.
In a month daffodils will be blooming.
In the bleak midwinter,
there are signs of Spring!
